I have been asked to help (as a volunteer) a tiny community interest company (CIC) to manage their HubSpot account/tools. They are on the Starter plan and due to budget limitations are paying only for one user.
Currently, HubSpot is set up with the phone number of another volunteer. Due to a 2-factor authentication for HS, to access HubSpot, they’ve been liaising with the person who’s been set up for the 2-factor authentication for the email address linked to HubSpot. This has been making the access to HubSpot a challenge.
When I’ve previously configured HubSpot for a client, I didn’t have to bother my client with codes sent to their phone/email address. But I don’t remember how I was accessing their HubSpot account.
What can we do to streamline my access to the HubSpot account of the tiny CIC (we’d want to change the phone number associated with the said HubSpot account to mine) - so that:
a) We keep the access to HubSpot secure
b) I don’t have to rely on multiple codes sent via multiple routes (but perhaps just get a code to my phone number)?
You will indeed have to find a way to easily share the 2FA codes with all the people who are logging in using the same credentials. HubSpot wants you to purchase additional seats, so there aren’t any easy ways around this, unfortunately. You either upgrade or you find a way to share the 2FA codes quickly among the users who access the platform.
In the past, editing access to HubSpot was free up to a certain limit.
There is also the concept of partner access. If you work for a HubSpot agency, this is a way to access customer portals without having to purchase an additional core seat: Grant Partner Admin permissions to partner employees -
@SD yes, this is what you were mentioned with your client paying only for one user. In the past, HubSpot allowed for more free users to have the same level of access - but this is not the case anymore.
