single core user

I have a starter pack with the one core user. We are a small charity with three volunteers and we share the account - clients are referred to us for help via our forms and we move them as tickets along a support pipeline.

We have a single admin email which we use to log into hubspot, this is our “core seat”

this week we began getting lots of errors with logging in and being locked out of our account when we had no issues before - we are at three different locations and mght access the account once or twice a week. We have been told that we need to make different email accesses for each volunteer, but these email accesses are not core seats so cannot actually update the tickets or move them along the support pipelines. So we have been told we have to buy more core seats. this is really frustrating as we are in effect functioning as one person, not three people. and if we just use our single log in we keep being locked out. there doesnt seem to be a solution.

Hi @BVolunteers,

Credentials / access for HubSpot are not supposed to be shared between users – each user should use their own email address and password (or other method of logging in), yes, requiring a core seat if they’re supposed to be able to edit things.

Unfortunately for you, there is no reliable way to make logging in with one account as it is simply not the intended way to use HubSpot.

So sadly, you would simply have to spend more money to get the functionality you’re looking for reliably.

Best regards

It is frustrating as we had been perfectly fine on the free plan before this. Is there a way of moving the core seat between users? we are a tiny team and having paid access for three people isn’t realistic!

@BVolunteers sure, it can be reassigned: Assign and manage seats

Keep in mind that the seat should always be with a super admin, as otherwise you can create situations where the person with editing access does not have the highest possible permissions and can’t reassign the seat either.

thank you! can all three volunteers be super admins? and then reassign the core seat from whoever used it last

to themselves when they log in?

@BVolunteers no, I don’t think so. Since you are on a paid subscription however, I’d recommend sending an email to support in-app to confirm how you can move around a core seat between three users without locking yourself out.
