Hi,
I have a question about the functionality for Core Seats for the PRO version of the system.
Customer purchases access for 10 employees:
5x Sales Hub PRO
5x Core seats
What limits will apply for Core Seats?
- Documents: access to 5 documents or up to 5000 documents
- Email tracking: limit of 200 notifications or will they have no limit?
- Repeating task: access to functionality or not?
Hi @Szymon_Rogozik! Welcome to the Community-- happy to have you here
Thanks for bringing this question to the forum. Core seats provide your user access to the features and tools in the subscription services you’ve purchased. I like to equate this to what used to be just a general unpaid user in HubSpot. So these Core users will have access to all features that do not require a Sales Hub Pro seat. Check out the Pricing page and you’ll see that all features with a small ‘user’ icon will require a Sales Pro seat, but everything else is available to Core seat users.
Let me know if I did not understand your questions or if you need additional clarification!
Best,
Kennedy
Hi
Thank you for your warm welcome and for replying.
Basically I know the rules of the new pricing plan and the differences between functional seats and core seats.
As far as functionalities such as Sales workspace or Sequences everything is clear. I have a function seat, I have access. I have core seats, I don’t have access.
However, I am referring to those less obvious cases as I mentioned earlier: e.g. Documents, email tracking, reaporting. These are functions that for START/PRO/ENT have identical limits.
So the question is what limits I will have in my case for Core Seats (when everything works in the PRO plan). The same as for START/PRO/ENT or the same as for the FREE version?
Great clarifying explanation, @Szymon_Rogozik! Core seats will have the same limits as the Professional plan! If the Hub is on Pro level, then that becomes the new bottom line for limits.
Thanks for the clarification, that’s what I wanted to know
Sorry for the late reply, I slipped up to write back.
THis answers is false. The bricked my account for a week due to this issue.
Thank you for contacting Hubspot Customer Support. My name is Paige and I am happy to help you today.
I understand from your message that you upgraded to Sales Hub Pro with one sales seat and since then, users with a core seat have not had the same access to certain sales tools.
Jumping right in, this is because the upgrade to sales hub pro is linked to the sales hub seat so going forward users much have an assigned sales hub seat in order to access more than the first 5 sales templates or snippets in the account.
We can see this confirmed here for example -
Please note: to create and edit more than the first three templates, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- If you are a user in a Sales or Service Hub Starter account, you must have an assigned Core Seat .
- If you are a user in a Sales or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise account, you must have an assigned Sales Hub or Service Hub S eat.
At the moment, you no longer have Sales Hub Starter but now have Professional, so a sales hub seat is required for full access.
Hi @kennedyp , @Szymon_Rogozik - I’m happy to share that full Sales Document access will be extended to core seats, effectively increasing the limit from 5 to 5,000 for core seat users. This has been one of the more consistent asks we’ve heard from teams with mixed seat configurations, and we’re glad to get it out.
If you have questions or run into anything unexpected, drop a comment below. Thanks again for helping us shape the roadmap.
Sincerely,
Ryan
Hi @rybarrett, thank you for sharing this update.
This is definitely good news, and it feels like a step in the right direction. Extending full Sales Documents access to Core Seats will solve one of the issues we discussed.
However, I still have a question about the remaining sales-related functionalities. As far as I understand, Core Seats in a Sales Hub Professional account still have the same limits as the Free version for some features, for example email tracking or repeating tasks, the examples I mentioned earlier in this thread.
This creates a confusing situation for customers. In some cases, when a company upgrades from Sales Hub Starter to Sales Hub Professional, users with Core Seats may actually lose access to functionality they previously had. So the company may end up paying more overall, while some users experience less functionality than before.
There is also a broader issue here. If individual features are now changed one by one, for example Sales Documents are increased for Core Seats but other features remain limited, it may become even harder to understand what Core Seats actually include in Sales Hub Professional accounts. What should customers use as the reference point when evaluating Core Seat functionality?
Is HubSpot also planning to review these other Core Seat limitations in Sales Hub Professional accounts, or to provide a clearer overview of what Core Seats include in each Hub tier?
Thanks @Szymon_Rogozik for elaborating on some of the pain points you are coming across in our packaging. This particular change to Documents is one of a number of more granular changes we’ve made recently to try and help simplify how our seat-based products are packaged. While it’s still early to say what else we have planned, I do want you to know that some of the things you mentioned (e.g., the Starter > Professional issue) is very top of mind for our pricing team. I’m sharing your specific case with the rest of the team - I’d suggest keeping a lookout on the forums as we work toward additional simplifications - we certainly recognize we have more to do. Thanks again for your feedback!
HI @rybarrett, thanks a lot - does “5.000 documents” also include message templates?
Thanks a lot
Hans
Hi @HWegner1 - The 5,000 limit I mentioned is specific to Sales Documents. Accounts with a paid subscription should actually have a 10,000 message template limit. Hope that helps!
