Can not believe that this is not a feature. Massive gap and I am not delighted.
This is possibly one of the largest feature gaps for HubSpot’s platform. Considering you can auto enroll a new contact to a marketing email workflow, not being able to auto enroll into a sales sequence seems so ludicrous. If the issue is spam, what’s keeping HubSpot users from spamming their contacts with automated marketing emails? This is definitely needed!
It is the reason we don’t buy Hubspit services and are looking for another solution that can fulfill this need.
FFS this is literally why I signed up to hubspot. I’m trying to make it so that when someone downloads an itinerary from my website it triggers a sequence through workflow. The options on workflow > email suck as they’re just for large email marketing campaigns. How the heck isn’t this alread a feature to have a trigger for a sequence rather then having to do it all manually.
Can I use a hubspot workflow to enroll (and trigger) a contact into a sequence in the CRM?
I’d like to execute a sequence we’ve built in our HubSpot CRM when a contact property changes. eg; when contact property is set to ‘X’ trigger sequence ‘Y’
I’m not seeing a way to do this when building out a workflow in the marketing side. Thoughts?
Hi @hayesnelson At this time it is not possible to trigger a sequence within a workflow.
However, this is a great suggestion. Can you head over to the ideas forum and add this as a post?

I could rebuild the sequence as a workflow…is there a way to kill a workflow based off a reply? @edjusten
@hayesnelson You can disenroll someone from a workflow if they meet a specific goal, but answering an email can not be used as a goal criteria in a workflow. Workflow goal criteria are explained here.
Ed
@edjusten is a sale email defined as one sent via a rep or from the CRM side and a marketing email defined as an email that would be sent from the marketing side (as in ones sent from a workflow)?
Resason I ask is a goal can be set to un-enroll if ‘recent sales email replied date is known’
@hayesnelson A sales emails is defined as a 1:1 email sent from the CRM or from a connected Gmail/Outlook inbox. A marketing emial is a 1:many blast send using the HubSpot marketing email app. Looks like you can dupe the sequnce in the workflow!

Hi @hayesnelson
I have exactly the same need as you here. Doesn’t seem hubspot added this features since then.
Were you able to find a workaround?
Thanks!
Need this too. For automating implementation followups. Any update? It **bleep** to have to manually spoonfeed/enroll when everything else is easily automated. Any workarounds?
+1 would be really helpful on automating dealflow. Perhaps if the contact properties are complete (as they should be because it’s in a deal), then it will enroll, if not, a task for someone to visit and manually enroll. Dealflow or sales and especially after-sales like onboarding are really important to not miss a beat, so automation here is really needed.
This would be great for tickets to.
For example: a ticket moves to a stage, it triggers a workflow that put contact associated with hat ticket into a sequence
This is not solved,
It’s disingenuous of Hubspot to mark this as solved
Its 2019. Is this still not a possibility?
+1 Also need this.
+1 - need this!
It makes no sense that HubSpot does not allow you to automatically launch a sequence in a workflow. This should not be a manual step each time you get a new lead.
If that sequence establishes a regular cadence of internal and external communication and tasks for my team, why not?
