It would be VERY useful to be able to paste the URL for a contact on LInkedIn when HubSpot cannot find that person.
You can, just add the “Linkedin Bio” contact property to your default view and paste away 
Thank you for your reply. I cannot find a property in HubSpot called “LinkedIn Bio” associated with Contacts (see image here). I realize I can create a custom free-form field for the link but I like having a contact’s LinkedIn Navigator info on the right column and want to be able to update that with a link if the system cannot find it.

That is strange, this is what I see for the property:
I checked my sandbox account and it also doesn’t have this property. I wonder if it is being phased out or requires a specific subscription level.

Hi @Ed_ no problem, I didn’t realize you were using the app integration when I first responded, that’s why I wanted to clarify what you were seeing.
The LinkedIn Sales Navigator app is a native HubSpot app, have you checked with HubSpot Support to see if they have any documentation to make the updates you’re looking for?
I don’t recall when, but at some point I was told this functionality does not exist so I posted this here as a sort of enhancement request. Thanks for checking on it.
HubSpot currently doesn’t support identifying contacts by pasting a LinkedIn profile URL when no match is found. A useful workaround is to manually create the contact, add the LinkedIn URL to a custom property, and use it later for reference or enrichment similar to how insect identification works, where you record key traits first and match them later when full data isn’t immediately available.
