When someone submits a form, it is properly creating a new contact in HubSpot. With Lead Status as “New”.
The only problem is, if the contact already exists in HubSpot, it will change their lead status to new even though it is an existing contact.
Is there any way that Lead Status can be set only for newly created contacts? So if it’s an existing contact with a Lead Status already set it wouldn’t be changed?
I thought this would be the case since the note in the plugin says “select the lead status value the newly added contact should be.”
Hi @NAsghari! A workflow could fix your problem! Instead of setting the Lead Status at the form level, use an if/then branch to only set genuinely new contacts to New.
Hey @NAsghari as Emma said this can be solved by doing it within workflows instead. However, the data on the form is set by gravity forms, the integration is built by gravity forms themselves.
It might be worth reaching out to them to find out if they have a feature to not override a property if the value is known! However I would say this is unlikely, as forms integrations simply send data to a HubSpot form, it doesn’t currently check data existing in the CRM.
