I sent an email to a list of people using my free account. However, if you try to respond to the email address from hubspot from the email client, you get a bounce with an error message: “because the domain hubspotfree.hs-send.com couldn’t be found. Check for typos or unnecessary spaces and try again.”
I didn’t edit anything and this is the hubspot default, is this a bug? How do I fix this so people can respond to my email and not get bounced?

This is correct and expected behavior. HubSpot does not have a way to access replies to its shared email sending infrastructure. There isn’t any way for users to check the replies their marketing emails sent from hubspotfree.hs-send.com generated. (Keep in mind that thousands of users leverage this for sending.)
If you want to access the replies, you would have to upgrade to Marketing Hub Starter, connect your sending domain and specify a reply to address: Manage your email authentication
In the free CRM, I’m not aware of any way that you could access replies to your marketing email. (Don’t shoot the messenger.)
