When I create a new user to have access to the Contacts and Companies, I want a consistent default view for the table of Contacts and Companies. As far as I can tell, I have to create a new view and then instruct the new user to add that view and set it as their default… which begins opening up opportunities for user error and confusion. Ideally, the default view could be edited by me and updated for everyone else. Is this not possible?
When working in an individual company or contact’s page, I see that I can choose the default properties to display and they’ll update for all users. Does the same set-up not work for choosing which columns to display in the tables?
Unfortunately columns is specific to each individual user.
My preferred workaround
>> Create views that your team can pin to their contacts tabs
This would help pull out contacts based on properties they would otherwise be searching for in columns. It would remove the user error and eliminate the need to have uniform columns because everyone has a clear picture of who these folks are.
That’s disappointing to hear that columns are specific to each individual user and an admin cannot create a default arranagement. It seems like that should be an option to help ensure consistency for employees.
I’ll continue to create views and instruct the employees to pin these views.
It would take 5mn for any Hubspot dev to create this option, allowing any admin to save time, avoiding them to do the same actions with every single user using Hubspot.
Same for Contact views attributes, you have to replicate manually for every user.
1st choice - The ability to set the default columns on standard views to match my company’s needs.
2nd choice - The ability to create a custom view that can be pinned to everyone’s Contacts screen.
3rd choice - The ability to create a custom view that can be EASILY found in the All Views list. For a new user the All Views list is blank, they need to eiter create their own or navigate to another owner’s views. ALSO the Owner’s list isn’t in any particular order so its difficult to find the owner with the view you want if there are 50 owners in the list.
Yes if you’re familiar with HubSpot it is easy to find or create a custom view, but put yourself in a new user’s shoes and see it from their point of view.
The request isn’t to lock anyone’s views down, its to create an easy starting point for a good experience.
Benefits:
Good first experience with new users of HubSpot
Reduced time training new users (especially when rolling out 50/100 new people)
Creates a good common starting point for everyone that’s actually relevant to their needs
Every company is different so it makes sense to add some flexibility in the default columns on standard views.

This is great, but I don’t see a tab for “default view” as specified in the video/solution linked?
I’m the org admin, so it should appear for me if anyone…
There needs to be a way for Super Users to change default view of indexed columns (yes I know I can change mine). That way our team is all seing the same information, especially if they are new or never used a CRM before. Is there a reason we can’t do this?
