Hello Everyone,
I know you can add an additional email to a contact by pulling up their record, clicking the pencial and selecting add additional email. Curious if there is a way to get the same result through a workflow.

Hello @JWills8, Happy Friday!
I want to invite some top experts to share their thoughts about it.
Hi, @Mike_Eastwood @danmoyle @Josh any recommendations to @JWills8 matter?
Thank you,
Pam
Hi @JWills8
There is no way (that I know of) to add a second email address via a Workflow, nor an Import.
A second email address can be added via the API, which could be triggered by a Workflow, but it would require custom code.
What’s the business process? How often do youneed to add a second email address?
Curiously
Mike
p.s. thanks for the mention @PamCotton
+1 for @Mike_Eastwood’s thoguth here. I don’t know of sany way to do it other than manually. I was thinking a custom coded workflow and API might, but I’ve never built one nor seen one.
Hey @Mike_Eastwood ,
Use case is we create email address for users and start sending information to that email after a set point. We are currently using Person Accounts in Salesforce and when swapping their emails over to the created one in Salesforce. Salesforce is overriding their email instead of moving it to an addtional email (Believe this is just an issue with person accounts as we did not have this issue when using regular accounts and contacts in salesforce with hubspot.) Since the email address is getting over written, if the client interacts or submits a form with their personal email instead of the created one we get duplicates for them.
I’ll look into an api solution.
Just as an update, the additional email field is a read only field and currently can not be updated by an API.
We have this same issue. We are a school where students receive multiple emails. They might have a student email, a personal email, a work email, etc. Currently, I have 11000 or so contacts that I need to change the primary email on the contact. This done manually would take forever. Need a way to do this quickly. I have exhausted a lot of means and made a few phone calls to Hubspot. Doesn’t look possible at the moment.
Hi @LWillis28, I hope you are doing well!
Thank you for reaching out and for your feedback.
I believe the best way to do this will be by an import. I was checking, and the idea was already submitted here.
I would recommend upvoting and commenting on your use case, so you’re automatically subscribed to the idea. You’ll receive notifications when our product team makes a status update to the idea.
Thank you,
Diana
The API seems to be here: Accounts Dashboard | HubSpot
I’ve searched pretty thoroughly to see if someone already built something. Anyone happen to develop this already?
@nathanphillips no changes that I’ve seen, no.
We really need this in workflows. We are otherwise plagued with duplicate issues when using the Salesforce integration. Whenever a salesforce contact’s email address is changed, that seems to create a new Hubspot contact, at least on a re-sync. If we could set and control secondary emails through a workflow, that would help in general with a lot of duplicate issues.
