it would be really great if you could apply smart rules to an entire block of an email.
For example, I have a 2 x 2 block, each has an image, text box and CTA, so 12 individual elements, like this;

If I want to apply smart rules I have to do so to each individual element, which is incredibly time-consuming. It would be much quicker if I could apply one set of smart rules which controls all 12 elements within the block.
I have also posted an idea relating to this topic, but it builds on top of the idea of having smart rules for entire sections. My customers ask for the ability to not show an element and/or a section if their contact is not a smart rule list member. I.e. they wish for the ability to hide elements/sections with smart rules. I have a "section" with multiple elements for each of our sales teams. The overall holiday email will be the same but I want to show the section for each sales team based on the viewer's membership list related to each sales team.
I CAN do this by adding a smart rule to each element within the section. But being able to do it at the section level would be ideal. Especially so I don't miss an element.

Agree this is needed. I just tried to do some smart content where I don't need a button to be visible as the default but do need it visible for all our prospects. I can't do this and deleting the button just removes it fully. We have 3 or 4 elements in a section and I also want to apply smart content to the whole thing instead of having to do it to the individual parts. Would be so much easier.
Would be a huge time saver for me and my marketing team. We also need the ability to add a Smart Rule to the From Name and From Email too though. (So people in Bob's list get the email from Bob and his email address, and people in Sue's list get it from Sue and her email address.)
Hi @SMartinSJC - You can do this with personalization tokens, if you have them set as the contact owner you can use that property, or use other custom properties where you have set the name and email address of the owner.
