User Permissions

We want our team on the tools to have pretty limited access. to hubspot

If I give them View access to Contacts - can they see all the emails associated with that contact? We’d prefer them not to.

Also I have given them no sales access but would like them to be able to see tasks assigned to them or post a task for followup - is this possible?

Hi @EASmarketing,

If you give HubSpot users contacts access, they will be able to see all emails associated with that contact. Access can currently not be defined in a more detailed way than the view/communicate/edit permissions.

HubSpot including access to tasks in the contacts access permissions – so you wouldn’t have to ungate the Sales Hub for these users.

You can search this knowledge base article for “tasks” for some more context: HubSpot user permissions guide

Hope this helps!

I think this is very critical and reduce the value of Hubspot dramatically. If we had known that before we started with Hubspot we would not have choosen that solution because of that. It is critical that people can read each others emails.

Hello @ESørensen, could you please provide us more details on what permissions you would like to have in your account? As HubSpot is always updating this may be an option currently. The more information, screenshots, and details you can provide, the better I can advise on the next steps.

Thank you,

Pam

I agree! This is a disaster for me. Any updates that you know of?

Hi @ESørensen and @ECockcroft,

Thank you for the feedback.

The best place to look for updates on feature requests is in the Ideas Forum. I wanted to share this resource on how the Product Team review ideas.

I also wanted to share with you the following ideas regarding this from the Ideas Forum:

I’d recommend upvoting these ideas and also commenting on them with your use cases. You can also subscribe to the idea (Options > Subscribe) to get notified if the status changes. This is the best place to give feedback to the Product Team as they regularly monitor the space.

Thank you!

Best,
