User permissions have changed for a user who now only has read-only access with no option to carry out even basic tasks such as adding contacts.
Not sure if something has changed? I can grant access to some areas but can’t seem to find a way to change them from view-only without buying an additional seat licence.
Any ideas?
Hi @KHounsell,
HuBSpot has changed to a model where users will nead seats for anything beyond view-only: Upcoming changes to HubSpot's pricing
If this change is recent, then you might have had a renewal recently or there was another trigger that led to the model being applied to your portal.
Generally, this should be in line with what you’re experiencing: Assign and manage seats
- The seats-based pricing model will only apply to new Hubs and subscription tiers created after March 5, 2024. Accounts created prior to March 5, 2024, that have not yet migrated, will only have access to purchased Sales Hub or Service Hub paid seats for legacy Sales Hub and Service Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise accounts. Learn how to assign paid Sales and Service Hub seats,
- If you’re upgrading from HubSpot free tools to a Starter subscription, your free seats will be removed once you upgrade. You will need to purchase the number of seats you require at checkout. Learn how to upgrade your HubSpot subscription or add additional paid seats.
In any case, there is unfortunately no working around this. If you want this user to have more than view-only access, they’ll need a seat.
Best regards!
Thanks so much.
It’s disappointing that this wasn’t clear to us
