I’ve created a custom “select” property form my Invoice. When I go to my Invoices and edit the views, I’m able to see the property I’ve created “Status,” but I’m not able to change it’s value to this property, which makes it kind of useless. Is there any specific place to change the values?
As it is right now, it’s always blank.

Hi Diana,
I’m not getting any errors it’s just that I can’t find a way to edit that field. I created a “Status” select custom field but I can’t find a way to update those values in the Invoice itself. (I’ve been using custom fields for Contacts, and companies, and that works just fine. But for some reason in Invoices, I can’t find a way to update the value)
I’m using this on Commerce → Invoices (see screenshot)
And I’ve created the “status” field. (see other screenshot)
I was expecting to have the “Status” field on the invoice information but it’s not showing up.

Thank you very much for the details and screenshots. Now I understand that you want to select the properties that will appear in the About section on an invoice, for example, the custom property you created “status”.
I can confirm that at the moment, it is not possible to customize the invoice object settings form that you see in image one.

I have the same need to track Invoice > Category so we can properly label whether the invoice is a down payment or a full payment. Same issue as above, it’s in the back end of properties but I can’t find a way to add it to the invoice template to make it useable in any way!
I see the clarification below that it’s purely for sync properties at the moment, but would love to see custom properties for invoices behave the same way it does for other record customization.

so for the moment as Diana said its not possible to edit manually this.
why? because its mainly thought to be sync with payment platforms that can gather the information of the payment Like Stripe or a bank account.
You can put the idea in the ideas forum so that this object can be handle manually.

Hi Nico, did you ever find a solution to this or another way to keep track of things? . We need to track which invoices have been uploaded into our accounting software (quickbooks). To do this, I make a custom invoice property but I cannot edit the property as the thread mentions.
I didn’t! They mentioned down below that this is not possible at the moment. So I guess we have to wait 
I haven’t tested this yet, but can you used a workflow to copy a custom property from another object to a custom invoice property?
Ist doch ein klarer Fehler. Zumindest benutzerdefinierte Eigenschaften müssen editierbar sein wie bei allen anderen Standard hubspot Objekten!!!
Leute tut da was. Das ganze Rechnungsthema wirkt irgendwie halb fertig. Auch bei fehlenden Layoutmöglichkeiten.

du hast absolut recht – aktuell ist das leider eine Produktlimitierung und benutzerdefinierte Invoice-Eigenschaften können nicht manuell im Datensatz bearbeitet werden.
Der beste nächste Schritt wäre, dafür eine Feature-Anfrage im Ideas Forum einzureichen:
