Unengaged Contact List

Hey HubSpot Community i am having a really tough time trying to figure out this Unengaged Contact List. My company send marketing emails and sales emails.

I am trying to create a list with any unenganed contacts that haven’t responded to any sales and marketing emails sent within the past 6 months. I tried a suggestion from another community member and i thought it worked until i started reviewing some of them and noticed a lot of them were created recently and had no engagement yet.

If anyone has any suggestions, i am open to them. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi @ESvendsen,

Could you share what your current list criteria look like currently and why they’re not sufficient?

Are you referring to this thread?

If so, the proposed list will give you all companies that have never replied to neither marketing nor sales emails – including those which have not received any.

With the new added context, you would add more criteria to the second list:

This way, this second list would only find companies which haven’t replied to emails but where there was a sales activity or a marketing email send more than 30 days ago.

Here’s how to read those criteria: If a company was contacted at least 30 days ago by sales but there has not been a reply to neither a sales nor a marketing email, they would end up in the list OR they would end up in the list if one of the contacts associated with the company has received a marketing email at least 30 days ago and there hasn’t been a reply to neither a sales nor a marketing email from any contact.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

Morning Karsten, so here is the screenshots of what we worked on earlier. The issue i noticed is that there are also unassigned companies on the list which come from our Marketing Team inputting the leads and then the contacts within the company are being sent marketing emails however the company itself isn’t assigned to anyone.

Also, some of the other leads are ones i created and put in one of the sales guys names that have 2 contacts and no marketing or sales emails were sent.

So essentially i am looking to remove all of the Unassigned companies AND only get companies in my sales teams name AND any companies i created but are in someone else’s name that don’t have any sales or marketing emails sent.

Ive tried creating lists with just the specific users, using Last Engagement Date, and i keep coming up with issues.

Hi @ESvendsen,

Have you reviewed my previous reply’s suggestion and list draft ? If you want to exclude unowned contacts, you would simply add a “AND Company owner is known” to each filter group.

Best regards

Yeah, this is what i was working on yesterday. However there are companies that have responded within the last month or so. Only thing i think is why they show up is because the leads aren’t under contacts. The unengaged contact list is below but yesterday i had to keep creating different static lists cause i can’t figure out how to edit a static list criteria. Thanks for all your help Karsten

Hi @ESvendsen,

Sure, happy to help.

Static lists can’t be edited, only active lists can.

These contacts are included by the first list (Companies with last reply date with last 365 days). So maybe again summarized here. These lists are evolving as I learn more about what you’re trying to achieve:

We now have companies with a known owner that have at some point had a marketing email send or a sales email send but have not replied to those emails within the last 365 days.

Best regards

Correct, i thought there would be a simple way to create an unengaged contact list with a certain time period and then i could edit accordingly like with the specific owners. I didn’t realize all the specifics needed to create such a list and am getting familiarized with this database. I setup a call with HubSpot on Tuesday. Can’t thank you enough for all your help Karsten.

Happy to help. Have you tried the lists as per my last post?

If you found that reply helpful, you can mark it as accepted solution. I’d appreciate it!

Have a great weekend,

Karsten

Hey Karsten, so i tried this and im seeing companies that have had no activity since 2021. Also, Am i only supposed to do one group or the other because i was thinking i need to do both because of the sales and marketing emails.
