I had a scheduled social post that had the featured imaged added 24 hours or so after the post was saved.
When actually published the thumnail is actually missing on LinkedIn Facebook etc.
Is that becasue of the delay addition does anyone know?

Sometimes you need to debug the post, LinkedIn and Facebook will then check whether there is new og information (such as the og image) and refresh the information. Simply insert the link and click “Debug”.

My apologies, I just noticed that I misread your original query. The debugging tools are for blog posts, website pages, landing pages, not social media posts.
For link previews, HubSpot has a troubleshooting article: Troubleshoot link previews in social posts

So… this is strange - I live edited the facebook posts and they have pulled in an image from the website icon NOT the featured image. The LinkedIn posts are still not finding any image.
Inspecting the page shows that the the server is returning a series of 404s for image tags???
THere is an option to refresh the link in Facebook, and thats not working - Given the featured imge is there, its getting really strange!

Without being able to explore, it’s hard to tell. I think this has to do with the fact that the post was changed retroactively.
If you want to investigate this further, you could take it to HubSpot technical support who can have a look directly in your portal.
