Hello!
Is anyone else having issues with LinkedIn posts not displaying the featured image as expected? Usually, when I use HubSpot to share a post (from a WordPress website), it pulls in the featured image as a large image to accompany the copy. But lately, and inconsistently, it only pulls it in as a thumbnail, as pictured below. Has something changed?
Hello @hidanya,
I’ve discovered a solution for the challenge you’re encountering.
The problem arises because social media platforms generate clickable thumbnails with URLs previews, allowing users to easily access the linked blog or website.
Instead of posting with the URL preview, omit the preview and manually upload the featured image in the “image section.” This ensures that the full-sized image you upload is displayed on social media platforms.
The downside is that the image won’t redirect users to the blog or webpage. Nonetheless, this method is perfect if your main objective is to showcase the featured image at its original size.
Please inform me if this solution proves beneficial.
Thank you, @SanjayKumar! I appreciate the response. I’m aware of that workaround, and it is not ideal, as we ultimately do want to drive clicks and website engagement, and the image would not be clickable. However, I’m beginning to think that the issue is unrelated to HubSpot… that it may, in fact, be an intentional UI change on LinkedIn’s part. I’m seeing more and more posts in this format in my feed. Time will tell!
