Why can’t all three users (all Super Admin) see newly added properties in ‘Contacts’. For example 6 new column properties have been added by one user, but the other two only see the default view.
HI, it’s likely that they are able to see the contact properties, but they’ve just not been added to the table that they are viewing.
So to test this, go to any contact record when signed in as a super admin, then click the ‘View all properties’ button
Then search for the property in question. You should be able to find it (Ensure the ‘Hide blank properties’ is not ticked.
Then return to your table, if you want to see the property as a column, then click the Actions button and then the Edit Columns. Add in the property you want to see as a column. (You can drag and drop the order)
I think @Tnichs did a good job explaining but just incase here is a little more info:
Just to make sure I am understanding you correctly, are those 6 new column properties added in the Settings or under Contacts > Select a Contact > View all Properties and then Added to the View from there? (I am attaching a screenshot called “Property added in Contact” to show where I am referencing).
I just tested this out in my test portal and I found that if the properties were added under the Contact “View all Properties” section then these would not affect any other user other than the one who made this change. Only changes made to the default properties will be reflected for all users.
HI,
Properties are created in Settings>Properties.
If you create them they are then visible in the contact record and available to all users.
Above, I was illustrating that you can view the properties by looking at the contact record all properties section and then view them in the table.
Hi and thank you both,
I’ve gone through each of your explanations as checks and all is as it shoudl be and there is still a viewing issue.
I’ve created new properties and added them as columns AND they are also viewable in the ‘create contact’ form.
I am Super Admin and can see these columns, however, there are two other users who are also Super Admin who can only view the default view and not see these additions. It was my understanding that Super Admin are able to see ALL.
Am I right in thinking that each Super Admin user has to add these new properties as columns to their own view?
Thank you ![]()
Hi @MJ50,
Great questions!
The changes that you are making when you are adding new properties as columns are user specific. So any user who makes these changes would be the only one that sees these changes. For you to make a change that all the other Super Admins would also see you would have to change the default properties in the settings. If one of the Super Admins changes the default it would then be visible.
I hope this is helpful! Let me know if you have any follow up questions or if I misunderstood you in any way here.
