Hi, I hope someone can help me find the correct settings.
I currently have a problem with my contact properties (left sidebar), because something that I´ve perviously changed in the settings kind of marks contacts based on something. I can´t find the settings where to change it back
Contact A may have 20 different properties, whereas Contact B has about 50.
I don´t know where the setting for this exact problem are, because I want to edit the criteria on how a contact is marked.
Note: I´ve already checked the team view settings, I don´t have any team views set as active so the criteria has to be somewhere else
Thansk in advance!
Hi @maulpaurer
That does sound a bit odd. Just to confirm, this is you looking at two different contact records and seeing different properties (and sections) listed in the left sidebar?
Could you share a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Thanks
Frank
Hi,
I can only see about 25 Properties, whereas a colleague can see more than 40 (both in the default view “About this contact” of the same contact)
Each contact seems to be categorized so that, depending on the user but also on the contact himself, the viewable properties change
So it is not you seeing different information but rather you and a colleague - that wasn’t really clear from your original post.
I see @ContentNinja already covered the main points, but I am starting to think this is a simple case of the following:
Every user can change - add or remove things from the - default view! You may have one default view, but if I add 10 properties to that default, because I decide these are important to my and my day-to-day business, I can add them and I will see them, whilst your view remains the same.
The way to test this is the following. Both you and your colleague.
Scroll down do “view all properties” in the left sidebar
Then click “reset to defaults”
This will reset both your views to the default view and you will see the same.

Hi @maulpaurer,
What I can understand from your query is that you are not able to set the default contacts property view based on specific conditions.
For ex: if you want certain properties to show up on those contacts which are customers, then you create a section on the default contact left sidebar and make the section conditional. To set the default view, from your contacts page navigate to the settings toggle on the top navigation bar. You will be directed to the contacts setting page. Then click on the “Record Customization” tab > Customize the left sidebar option under Customize Sidebars > Default View.
There you can add a new section by clicking on the “Add Section” button & give a name to the section. Under the Section Name Field, you’ll find a “Make this section conditional” option, if you select that then you can set the criteria basis for which that section will become visible on the default contact record view. For ex: If the lifecycle stage is customer, only then that section has to become visible.
Another example could be: If the HubSpot Team is “Sales Team”, only then that section has to become visible. Then you can include the properties in that section and save the view.
I hope this helps. Please write back if you have any more queries. Would be happy to help!

Tushar
Hi Tushar,
that’s not exactly what I am looking for;
Lets say, I look at Contact A and a colleague is also looking at Contact A - I can see 25 Properties in the same section as my colleague (in this case, the "About this contact - default view). Here, my colleague can see 40 properties
Hey @maulpaurer,
If the contact left sidebar is showing different properties to different users in your HubSpot Account, then there can be two possible reasons for that:
1) The default view is set basis the Team View:
2) The property visibility has limited access: (This would be relevant only if you have enterprise hub):
Could you check on both levels if either of them matches your case?
