I have been troubleshooting with HubSpot, who informed me that it’s a Google-related issue. However, when I contact Google support, they say it’s a HubSpot issue because I’m using HubSpot forms. It’s been a frustrating back-and-forth with no resolution.
Has anyone successfuly set up Enhanhed Conversions in HubSpot?
Hi, @Rebshu Thanks for your question. I’d like to invite some of our community experts to the conversation — hey @danmoyle@Crystal_Hopper@CHawkins, do you have any tips or feedback you can share with @Rebshu?
@Rebshu - What is your lead volume like? How many new contacts have been created in the past week? How many contacts have moved lifecycle stages in the past week?
I’ve seen this in accounts that have a light lead volume and slow sales cycle. If there isn’t enough volume, it takes a while for the platforms to effectively communicate.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I turned on EC a couple of months ago now. Lead volume is relatviely low: <30 per month, and each contact would move to the next lifecycle stage in a day or two. Do you think that’s still not enough time for the platforms to commuicate?
Hey there @Rebshu. I’m with @CHawkins on this one. I’ve usually seen that error when volume is low, too.
Additionally, after a little research it looks like this isn’t all that uncommon. I found a few potential reasons for why this might be happening.
Timing: The Turn on enhanced conversions option in your Google conversions settings should be automatically selected within 48 hours of the first event sync from HubSpot. If it’s been less than 48 hours, you may need to wait a bit longer.
Data syncing: Are your HubSpot forms set up correctly to sync contact data with your Google Ads account? This includes email addresses, phone numbers, and other relevant information.
Implementation method: I found this Community thread where some folks found success by using Google Tag Manager to implement Enhanced Conversions, rather than relying solely on HubSpot’s integration.
And finally, I found a few reports of discrepancies between conversions shown in Google Ads and HubSpot, which could be related to how each platform counts conversions.
I don’t know that I have a definite solution, but if I were to troubleshoot, here’s what I’d try.
Verify that you’ve waited at least 48 hours after setting up the events in HubSpot.
Double-check that your HubSpot forms are correctly configured to send data to Google Ads.
Consider using Google Tag Manager as an alternative implementation method.
Ensure that you’re using individual Google Ads accounts, not manager accounts, as HubSpot can only connect to individual accounts.
We were having the same issue.
We were missing ‘consent to share’ custom HubSpot property during our initial setup. After adding the custom property to all our contacts and updating the HubSpot event, that seemed to have fixed the error in Google Ads.
However, we’re still seeing some gaps in conversions. Not all HubSpot EC conversions are being sent to Google Ads. Prior to enabling EC, we almost always used to have a 1:1 conversion match (Slight differences were there due to ‘data driven attribution’ we used in Google Ads).
With EC enabled, there is a 15-20% shortage of conversions in Google Ads. This is our 2nd week of implementation. Hoping to find a resolution soon.
