I am currently taking the HubSpot Service Hub Software Certification and I am stuck on the practical exercise “Create a Knowledge Base Article.”
I have completed all the required steps:
Created a Knowledge Base.
Created a knowledge base article.
Assigned it to a category.
Published the article.
Made it public.
Verified that the article was live.
However, whenever I click “Exercise completed,” HubSpot responds that the exercise has not been completed and asks me to review the instructions.
I have also:
Refreshed the browser.
Logged out and back in.
Retried the exercise multiple times.
Checked the HubSpot Status page, and all systems are operational.
At one point, the article temporarily disappeared and displayed “That article is nowhere to be found,” although it later reappeared.
Has anyone experienced this issue with the practical exercise validator? Is there anything else I should try, or does my Practice Mode environment need to be reset?
I just tested this on my end and was not able to reproduce the issue. I’ve also checked your progress and it looks like you’d be ready to move onto the Exam. Would you mind clearing your cache and also test another browser (e.g. Chrome, Safari, etc.) If the issue persists please feel free to include those screenshots that highlight the specific portion of the course.
It’s encouraging to know that my progress indicates I’m ready to move on to the exam. I will clear my browser cache and test again using another browser and an Incognito window. If the exam is still not accessible after trying those steps, I’ll share screenshots showing the course page and where it still indicates the exercise is incomplete.
I tried again using a different browser (Firefox), but the result is the same.
Interestingly, every time I click ‘Exercise Completed’, I receive an email confirming that I passed the practical exercise. However, the Academy interface still shows the practical exercise as incomplete, even though I can now continue to the next course module.
It appears my completion is being recorded on the backend but is not updating correctly in the Academy interface.
I screenshots showing:
the confirmation email stating I passed the exercise,
the exercise still appearing as incomplete in the Academy,
and the course allowing me to proceed to the next module.
Unfortunately, I am replying from my mobile browser and the Community editor does not appear to provide an option to upload images. Could you please advise whether this is a UI synchronization issue or if my course progress needs to be refreshed?
Lastly, since my account already shows that I’m eligible for the exam on your end, is it safe for me to continue with the remaining modules while this practical exercise display issue is investigated?
Thank you so much for your help as I look forward to your response.
Thanks for further testing this! I’ve attempted the course again and I’m actually now able to reproduce this behavior in my personal portal. That said, on the backend I can confirm that it states your practical exercise is completed, which leads me to believe this is just an error with the UX. I’d suggest going ahead and completing the rest of the course. As for the issue, I’ve flagged this with the team and will reach back out once I have any updates for you!
