Sequence Reporting

My team is working a lot with sequence enrollments and we are looking for ways to track the performance of these sequences. The Sequence tab in Hubspot does work great, but sometimes we need different metrics side by side, or in a different format that isn’t really possible in the Reporting Dashboards.

One work around that I’ve found with help from a Hubspot Account Manager themselves, is to take the link from the sequences page and add it to a dashboard as external content. This also works well, but I need to click on the date range every time I want to look at the performance metrics. It seems to not save and needs to be clicked in each time, when there are about 8-10 different external content tabs this adds a bit more friction to other team members that want to look at these dashboards.

Am I alone here in using this method? Has anyone found a method or work around that works better?

Hi @LSislowski,

What exactly do you want to report on? Sequences are available as a data source in the custom report builder which offers a lot of flexibility: Create reports with the custom report builder

I’d recommend familiarizing yourself with the report builder and testing whether you can create sequence reports that show what you’re looking for.

Let me know if you have any follow questions!

I am looking for the same metrics that are available in the Sequences tab. I’d like to know how many Enrollments, Meetings, Replies, and Bounces there are for each sequence, but in the custom reporting it seems that there is only the ability to report on one of these metrics at a time. Do you know a method that works better to include all of this information?
I am asking because I have worked directly with representatives from hubspot and they offered the best solution that they were aware of at the time, and it did not solve the problem of my specific need for reporting.

I’ve run into this with a few clients. The sequences tab shows one view at a time, and custom reports only chart one metric well. The trick is to stop looking for one report and build a small set that sits side by side.

  • Use the custom report builder with Sequence enrollments as the source
  • Build one report per metric: enrolled, replied, meeting booked, bounced
  • Group each by sequence name so the bars line up across reports
  • Put them in a row on one dashboard and set the date filter at dashboard level
  • That dashboard filter fixes the date reset problem you mentioned

Hey @LSislowski , That external-content workaround works, but I’d move the sequence reporting back into native HubSpot reports. You can add HubSpot’s sequence performance reports to a dashboard or build your own in the custom report builder, then use one dashboard-level date filter across compatible reports. That should save your team from reopening and resetting the date range on every embedded sequence tab.
