How do I run an activity report from contacts by sales person, filtered by Type of Contact, time period, and type of activity?

You would navigate to Menu > Reports > Reports > Create custom report > Custom Report Builder and select Primary data source “Contacts” + “Sales activities”.
Then, set up your Configure tab as follows:
Under Filters, filter for Type of contact (this is a custom properties of yours which I don’t have, I’ll use Persona) and the desired time frame:

You can check many activity reports in the reports library. Created a loom for you here to check how you can add filters. For the report with contact type, you can create a custom report as suggested by the fellow user karstenkoehler.
