not allowed to connect WordPress plugin

I have installed the WordPress plugin for HubSpot. However, when I try to connect it from WordPress, I keep getting the message that my account does not have access and that I’m not authorized to connect a website to my HubSpot account. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately with the free version there really isn’t support offered to troubleshoot and as this is a user to user forum, our options if the scripts are not working can be limited.

With that said, having worked in Hubspot for a number of years, I have never recommended to a client to install the Hubspot wordpress plugin. All it does is embed the tracking script on your pages and give you an iframe in your wordpress admin panel to hubspot. I typically recommend clients install the tracking script themselves and then just login to hubspot when you need to use it. In these instances, I would recommend using a tag management platform to fire the hubspot code along with any other scripts you may be using (ie: ux research, abm, analytics, etc.).

Hey @DvandeWerken

I understand that you’re experiencing difficulties with authorizing the HubSpot plugin in WordPress. This issue could be due to several reasons, including incorrect settings or permissions.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
1. Verify you have the right permissions in your HubSpot account.
2. Follow the correct OAuth process if required.
3. Look for typos in your credentials.
4. Update both plugin and WordPress to the latest versions.
5. Review plugin and HubSpot documentation.
6. Contact support for assistance.
