New contact entry date is wrong

Hi

My date of entry is always wrong. When the form is submitted on my website it should show todays date (28/09/2021) for the newly created contact it , it however creates the contact with 17/06/2021.

Please help.

Hi @JHunt4,

Could you share a screenshot of what you’re referring to, pixelating any confidential information? Which contact field is showing the date?

Is it possible that this contact was in fact created at an earlier point in time and came back to submit a form now?

Best regards

This contact was added today through my website contact page. www.sunoxi.com.au

Hi @JHunt4,

HubSpot is rarely wrong about these things (although it’s possible). When you open the contact record, what do you see when you scroll to the bottom of the activity feed? There should be a timeline entry that explains why HubSpot displays June 2021 here.

Best regards!

seems the contact form is over writing its self each time. As the contact has each new person email address in the feild.

Hi @JHunt4,

As a first step, please navigate to your form and enable the following setting in the Options tab: “Always create contact for new email address”

This should stop this issue from occurring.

However, it’s unusual that this is happening to begin with. (Are you by any chance forwarding existing marketing or sales emails to other contacts? If yes, HubSpot is creating individual unique links for each recipient in emails. If you forward one of these emails, HubSpot will keep the link meant for the original recipient and attribute everthing to the original contact record. That’s what I assume is happening here and you’d have to stop forwarding emails.)

Best regards

I had this same issue. I guess hubspot must assign a defualt name for a new form- which happens to be the date it was created. When someone submits the online form, that (old) date is in every header. Just change the name of the form. Hope that helps.
