Manually enroll objects to workflows at a specific action in the workflow

Hi,

it would be super helpful to have the following workflow feature available:

Sometimes objects (contacts, companies, deals) need to be enrolled manually to a workflow and usually it makes sense to enroll them and they start from the enrollement trigger.

But sometimes it makes sense to enroll them and they start at a specific workflow actions e.g. send an e-mail (but do not run through the actions before this specific one as the actions before did already happen due to an old workflow that got deactivated or other reasons).

Thank you and looking forward if this idea would be helpful for more HubSpot users :slightly_smiling_face:

Best

Rebecca

Hi Rebecca!

I believe you can enroll any object through the app for a workflow. You’re only limited by the Workflows API which only supports a Contact object.

Here’s some helpful documentation:

I hope this helps! We’re also having a webinar on August 9th discussing and demoing custom objects, I hope to see you there!

Hi Hannah!

Thank you very much for sending your reply and the documentation links :slightly_smiling_face:

The first part of my idea (to add any object and not only contacts manually to a workflows) does work properly. But the described idea was to manually add an object in any action of the workflow, but not always from the start with the enrollment triggers. For example: Some contacts already received the first automated mails in a workflow but new mails were added and the contacts should be added manually at the starting point right before the newly added mails and not receive the old mails a second time.

Do you also have an idea for this case?

Looking forward to your reply!

Best regards,
Rebecca

Hey Rebecca,

Apologies for the delay - were you able to find a solution for your use case? If not, I did a little research and I wonder if you could set an enrollment trigger for contacts who received mail and automatically enroll them in the newly added mail?

Otherwise, if you don’t want to utilize an enrollment trigger and want to manually track these contacts or objects, perhaps could create a list based on their activity and use an activity filter for mail to identify the contacts and set an enrollment trigger?

Please let me know your thoughts!

Lists: Determine filter criteria

Activity filter: HubSpot's default activity properties

Enrollment triggers: Set your workflow enrollment triggers

Enroll objects into workflows: Manually enroll records in workflows
