In your Hubspot account, you can specify default values for your Outlook mailbox integration, i.e. default enable or disable mail logging.
In our sales team, some users want to have full control over mail logging, so they choose to default disable mail logging, and they enable mail logging every time they want to.
Other users prefer to default enable and don’t bother too much if they got too many mails logged to Hubspot.
In every case the result is not optimal: they forget to enable mail logging for emails they should keep track of or they get too many emails logged that result in an overcluttered activity record in Hubspot.
Regarding Hubspot, commonly you may consider unnecessary to log every email to other team members or your boss.
On the other hand, you’d want to log most of the emails addressed to certain contacts (usually customer contacts).
A better approach would be to be able to decide if you want to default enable or default disable mail logging *on a contact basis*.
That feature would be available in every contact form and in the Hubspot plugin for Outlook, along with the current checkboxes related to mail tracking and logging.
