Let different workflow types work better together

Status: Idea Submitted

When you’re B2B and want to trigger workflows based on the deal but send specific actions based on the contact, it’s a real hindrance that you can’t combine Deal enrollment and Contact actions. I thought I might be able to move them between workflows but you can only trigger workflows of the same type. So I couldn’t have one workflow to enroll the right deals and then connect to another workflow for the contacts.

This would be incredibly helpful. As an example, I need to be able to trigger a workflow off of new deals in a specific pipeline to then copy a property (distributor #) from the associated company (distributor) to the same property on the deal. Currently I can only do this by making a company based workflow, but reenrollment would be an issue and it would end up re-running for ALL associated deals if done that way. Also I then need it to trigger a workflow that runs Associ8 to automatically associate the deal to our custom object using the same property (distributor #). Even if I made it a company workflow, I can’t then have that workflow feed into a deal-based one.

I’m surprised that one cannot do this! I’m all for having for example a Company based WF doing some stuff, then create a Contact based WF separately, and then link them using that button 'enroll to other WF. As a minimum solution. But also full possibilities would of course be better to be able to have all actions in one.
