I’m experiencing an issue in HubSpot where the lead status of some contacts updates automatically, even though I haven’t made any changes myself. This behavior is causing a lot of confusion and making it difficult to keep track of my leads properly.
It’s particularly frustrating because I rely on the lead status to manage my sales process, and unexpected changes compromise that workflow.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Could it be caused by workflows, integrations, or some kind of automation I’m not aware of?
And more importantly — how can I prevent lead statuses from updating automatically unless I explicitly make the change?
Any ideas, tips, or directions to look into would be greatly appreciated!
You can always check who or what is making changes to a field value by looking at the property history: View a record's property history
Open the record, hover your mouse over the field, click ‘Details’. If you’re not able to interpret what you see, please share a screenshot of the right sidebar that opens.
Servus @karstenkoehler, vielen Dank für deine Hilfe. Das Problem war tatsächlich die apollo.io Integration. Aus irgendeinem Grund hat diese automatisch den Leadstatus geändert.

Hi @Jmayer8 - Do you have a workflow automation set up for that action? Additionally, if you’re using the lead object/pipeline, the lead status can be automatically updated based on your action. I suggest checking the settings; here’s an article that can help you with that.
Also as @karstenkoehler suggested, please check the property history, you’ll see how that value was updated.
Thanks.
Lead Status is a Contact Property, so it’s not supposed to update automatically. It may be connected to some workflow.
If you feel like it’s been doing so, check where the Property is being used in.
Go to Settings → Properties → Contact Properties → Search for Lead Status → Click on it and check the “Used in” tab to identify if its being used in any workflows
Hope it helps
