We are trying to find the last INBOUND activity date of the contact, whether that is email, call, SMS, etc. It seems like other properties include our own team’s activity so we cannot use it accurately.
Is there a property I am missing? Or a way to create our own?
As far as I know, this does not exist and it is unfortunately also not trivial to create this – at least not in a reliable way as there aren’t workflows for all activity types.
What you could do is enroll contacts into a workflow when “Last activity date” changes, then use a branch to check whether it was an inbound or outbound activity, then only set the current date in the applicable branch.
Hi! This is a common issue, HubSpot’s default properties like “Last Activity Date” or “Last Contacted” include both your team’s outreach and the contact’s responses, so they’re not ideal for tracking only inbound activity.
There isn’t a native property that tracks just inbound engagement (like replies, calls from contacts, or inbound SMS), but you can work around it by:
Creating a custom date property (e.g., “Last Inbound Interaction Date”)
Using workflows to update it when a contact replies to an email, submits a form, starts a chat, etc.
It’s not perfect, but with the right triggers, it gives you a much clearer picture than the default fields.
