I was making some edits to our Knowledge Base and for the most part the pages updated with the changes. However, there are some pages that do not reflect the updates made.
I was curious if I was missing something that would be the cause of this. Attached some images for some clarity.
Welcome to the HubSpot Community! We’re thrilled to have you here and appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
It sounds like you’re experiencing some caching or template propagation issues within your Knowledge Base.
Since this involves technical troubleshooting of your Knowledge Base settings, I’m tagging a few of our experts who might have encountered this specific behavior before: @karstenkoehler, @RubenBurdin, @danmoyle - do you have any insights on why KB styling might apply inconsistently across different categories or pages?
Sometimes the “old” version of a page is cached. Try viewing the problematic pages in an incognito window or clearing your browser cache to see if the correct styling appears.
Are the pages that aren’t updating all part of the same category, or are they random articles across the site?
Knowing this can help us narrow down where the issue could be stemming from.
Glad it worked out. I’d also recommend installing the Chrome extension “Simple HubSpot Developer Extension” to quickly clear your cache. I’ve seen that help as well, as @SealaB referenced. Caching is great until it’s not.
Hi @JHesse , glad you circled back with the update. What you observed lines up exactly with how HubSpot Knowledge Base theming behaves.
KB design changes are applied at the theme and category-template level, but propagation isn’t always immediate across all cached variants of category and article pages. In practice, HubSpot’s CDN and internal cache can take several hours to fully refresh, especially when multiple categories or translated variants are involved.
That’s why some pages briefly show older banner or menu colors while others update instantly.
For future reference, a quick way to sanity-check whether it’s caching versus a real config issue is to compare the same article URL with and without query params, or load it in an incognito window and then again after a few hours. If it resolves itself without republishing templates, it’s almost always propagation delay rather than misconfiguration.
Thanks for closing the loop on this. It helps future readers who hit the same “why is only half my KB red?” moment.
