I have Hubspot starter. Under Pipeline Automation I can set up a workflow that allows me to either “create a task” or “send an internal email notificaton”.
When I use the 2nd option, I get an error:
“Unable to send email notification. The recipient needs to turn on workflow notifications.”
How do I turn on workfolw notifications without the professional subscription?
Thanks
Jeff
Hi @PlanetPluto,
This is not a paid feature, it’s referring to the notification settings in HubSpot: Set up user notifications in HubSpot
Without workflow notifications enabled, the notifications simply cannot be sent, hence the error. The receiving user needs to turn them on:
Best regards
Do you have any idea why Hubspot allows this process to commence without any suggestion it is not available, and the only way you find that out is with an error stating that you have to set something up. And when you can’t find a way to do that and waste all this time posting here, you eventually find out is was not available in the first place? Is there somewhere to lodge a complaing about why we are duped into this being available?
@PlanetPluto have you looked into the notifications settings? Have you followed the steps from my previous reply? Once you do, you should be all set.
Again, this is not limited to specific HubSpot subscriptions. You do not have to upgrade. You simply need to enable email notifications in your notifications settings (or the user for whom this error has occured). Once email notifications for workflows are enabled, the workflow action should also perform as expected.
It’s the same as sending a postcard to yourself but glueing the mailbox shut. HubSpot cannot deliver the notification if you choose in the notification settings to not receive workflow emails.
Here is screenshot. No mention that the internal email won’t work:
Hi, I humbly apologise. I misread your first response and could not at first find the notifications enabler. I’ve done this now and it is working! Thank you Karston. You are invaluable to this Hubspot forum
