Improve follow-up task creation with a task type

Status: Idea Submitted

Our sales team frequently utilizes task queues, which greatly support our sales process, particularly in making outbound calls. The new call window opens promptly as a representative progresses through the queue, making calling directly from the browser both quick and convenient. After completing a call, the representative can easily create a follow-up task before proceeding to the next one.

When creating a follow-up task, users have the ability to edit the new task.

However, the option to choose the task type is absent. As a result, all tasks default to ‘to-do,’ compelling users to open the newly created task and change the task type (for instance, to ‘call’).

This issue becomes especially inconvenient as the new task isn’t always immediately visible, necessitating a page refresh. This creates significant friction in managing task queues.

We hope that this issue will be addressed soon. Although the change required is minor, it would significantly enhance our workflow.

Yes, this seems like a really obvious gap. We are just starting with hubspot, and we are really liking it so far. However this is one of our biggest initial frustrations. It isn’t a killer to have to go and change the type, but it seems like an easy thing to add and as you say would massively improve workflow when making lots of calls quickly

Yes this is a much needed feature! It slows the process down

Come on HubSpot, this has been an issue for years, this must be an easy fix and would have huge time benefits to the users. Pretty please can we have this?

Any updates on this issue? Would be nice to fix this

Hi, Can this be fixed today? thanks
