I have my google calendar connected and google meet setup to automatically be the location for new client meetings scheduled through Hubspot. I have confirmed I am the organizer in the meetings. However, when I go to enter the meeting it does not allow me to join, but rather puts myself and all other attendees in a waiting for someone to allow us to enter status. I troubleshot as best I could using Gemini and web searches. The setting proposed all seem to be correct, but the problem persists. I tested setting up a meeting directly through my google calendar (not hubspot) and there is no issue there. I need some ideas and direction on what to look at next to get this fixed.
Hi @TWalker893!
The issue happens because HubSpot doesn’t create a full Google Meet event — it only adds a simple Meet link to the calendar invite. As a result, Google may not recognize you as the meeting host, putting everyone (including you) in a waiting room.
Try reconnecting your Google calendar:
HubSpot Settings > Integrations > Connected Apps, and reauthorize Google Meet with all permissions.
Or Enable “Quick Access” in Google Meet Settings:
If you’re using Google Workspace, check your Meet settings (or ask your admin) to ensure Quick Access is turned on — this lets people join without waiting.
Hope this helps!

Carolina, you got me to the right place to identify the problem! It was in the integration. When I first opened the Hubspot account I was using a different calendar. I had cleared it all other places, but it still had that other account connected at the Google Meet integration. I had to uninstall the integration and reinstall it with the new account. Once I did that, it worked properly. Thank you for the help!
@TWalker893 That’s great news! Always happy to help if you need any HubSpot support! ![]()
