Every sequence email made into a template

Hi all,

Just wondering why Hubspot seems to create a new template everytime a new sequence is created with pre-written emails or a new email is written within the sequence?

I have so many new templates already from only a couple of new sequences.

Cheers

Hi @MNar

Templates are essentially the building blocks of a sequence.

So you are either using existing and previously saved templates or creating new ones.

When using an existing template for an email this would not create and save a new template.

I hope that helps.

Hi Frank,

So there’s no way to not have them automatically save?

Thanks,

Milda

Hi @MNar

To have what automatically save?

When you create a sequence you either pick an existing template or create a new one, which then gets saved.

I would recommend a consistent naming convention for templates to it is easy to find and re-use templates.

Hi Frank,

As an example, I used one of the templated sequences from HS, which then automatically saved every email within that sequence as a template.

As you can see, these templates are empty and therefore of no use to me in the templates part of the platform:

I did not choose to create these templates, and so I’m wondering why this is happening?

In addition, when I’ve used an email template in sequence, this caused a copy of that template to save in templates as per below:

This is really frustrating and unnecessary, I haven’t even edited that template so it’s the exact same thing.

I am experiencing the same. Is there any further comment on how to stop the duplicate templates from being created?

Hi @LRUNACRE,

Thank you for getting in touch. I see that you had this question a few days ago. I’m wondering if you managed to find a solution or if you need further investigation to explore possible options.

If you have found a solution, could you kindly share it? This could be beneficial for others facing a similar question.

If you haven’t found a solution yet, could you provide details on the steps you have taken, screenshots of examples of the behavior, and any additional information that could help us delve deeper into the issue and uncover potential solutions?

Thanks,

Diana

Hi @LRUNACRE & @MNar

Are you creating sequences from scratch of from a pre-made sequence?

The latter will always create new and empty email templates.

As mentioned previously, I recommend creating and naming your email templates first and then building a sequence from scratch and selecting the appropriate email templates.

Hope that helps.

Frank
