Edit Email in Sequence Without Altering the Template or Saving New One

When enrolling someone in a sequence, I’d like to take a template email and adjust it specifically to that person. At the moment, I then have to change the entire template (which is not good becuase others use this) or I have to save it as a new template (which is going to cause a TON of new templates). I’d like to be able to apply it to just the single person I’m enrolling at the moment.

I’m a marketer who writes emails for sales people. I go in and create templates for my emails, which my sales people use to create sequences. But when the salesperson wants to modify my “Hello '[firstname]” to “Hey '[firstname]” (to be more in ‘his voice’), that action creates a new template, which is really unnecessary. Why can’t he just edit his particular use of the company’s template, only saving his edits within his sequence? I would love to be able to turn that “feature” off.

It’s way too easy for the sales folks to edit the template that was created for the ENTIRE team. And please make it so the color doesn’t cahnge on the update or save as new buttons. Very confusing and makes it very easy for someone to choose the wrong option if they’re used to it being one color and now it’s another.
