Getting error on https://crm.ngosummit.africa/ even after setting up DNS on cname / cpanel
Hi @NSummit, and welcome to HubSpot Community!
Tagging a few experts in this area to see if they have some insight into this: @gabriel-nextiny and @jonchim - let us know if you’re needing further context on this or an idea of what the culprit may be.
Jumping right in, I brought your site into https://www.digwebinterface.com/ and can see hscoscdn-eu1.net as the target of the CNAME record.
I will note that a CNAME record must not coexist with any other record type on the exact same subdomain. In other words, you cannot have a CNAME and an AAAA (or A, MX, etc.) record on the same host name.
Because you’re getting a 404 (Page Not Found) instead of a browser error like “Site can’t be reached,” this strongly indicates that DNS is resolving correctly and the request is reaching HubSpot.
The 404 means the browser successfully found HubSpot, but HubSpot doesn’t know which page to display at that URL.
Since the connection appears successful (yielding a 404), please check your HubSpot settings one more time:
- Go to Settings > Content > Domains & URLs.
- Ensure crm.ngosummit.africa is listed as the Primary domain for the content type you’re using (e.g., Landing Pages).
- Ensure the page you’re trying to view is Published and specifically assigned to that subdomain/URL (the URL in the page settings should exactly match what you’re entering in the browser).
Please let us know what you find!
Hey @NSummit, Seala has provided good tips above, the DNS is definitely resolving so check that your content is published and also not in staging environment. It appears there’s no pages in your sitemap https://crm.ngosummit.africa/sitemap.xml
