Hi,
I’m going to send a mass email to one of the lists created. I want to make sure that in an email if any contact record doesn’t have a first name then the recipient should receive it as - Hello,
For those who have the first name is contact records it should send - Hello First name,
I have done personalization in an email as below and the global default value of the first name is kept blank. So can anyone help me on this.
Hi @KaKaRoT,
It sounds like you want to avoid the empty space(s) that would be shown if the First name is unknown?
In that case, you would have to work with a smart rule in your email: Create and manage smart content rules
First, you would create a an active contact-based list of all contacts where First name is known. You could then set up two rules for your email:
- If contact is in list (First name is known), then show the text module that starts with “Hello [First name],”.
- Default ( = if contact is not in that list): show the text module that starts with “Hello,”.
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
Hi @karstenkoehler,
Yes, you are right I want to avoid empty spaces that would be shown if the First name is unknown. Can you please help me how to add smart rules in the body of the email?
Thanks!
Hi @KaKaRoT,
The link I shared earlier contains a step by step instruction: Create and manage smart content rules
(In short, hover over the text module, click More > Manage smart rules.)
Can you review the steps and let me know if you’re getting stuck?
Best regards
