Email Notifications

We currently get notifications when anyone on the email thread opens the email. Is there a way to receive notifications only when the client opens the email, rather than our internal team?

Hi @RBronikowski,

Unfortunately not, no. This is due to how sales email tracking works, with a small element that is being loaded by the email client: Understand HubSpot Sales email open and click tracking | Knowledge Base

This pixel does not “know” by whom it is being loaded, only that it is being loaded.

The only exception can apparently be made for the sender, if the sales extensions are installed: Block self-open email notifications with the HubSpot Sales Outlook desktop add-in or Chrome extension

As far as additional tips go, if the emails are reviewed directly on the record in the HubSpot CRM, no notifications will be triggered. I am aware however that this probably would mean a change in how users generally interact with emails.

Best regards!

I have to inform you that in my case, I only receive notifications when someone on the client side opens the email or clicks on a link in the email. I do not receive notifications when my team in Cc is opening the email.

Hi @AAnghelea
Thanks for your comment! To ensure your question or topic gets the best visibility and a wider range of responses from the community, it’s usually best to start a new thread rather than adding to an older one.
A fresh post will help your query stand out to everyone who browses the forum, increasing the chances of someone with relevant insights or solutions seeing and responding to it quickly. Feel free to tag me in the post and I’m happy to get you started.
Best,

Victor
