Unable to login to account , account is deactivated , but need to delete it , as login is not possible how to delete account ? Need support . Passkey issue also there , unable to use lost passkey option with name tag. always says re-try / somthing went wrong.
Hi @ANSINDIA,
If you’ve lost access to your passkey, you won’t be able to delete the account until you regain access. HubSpot requires authentication before any account-level actions like deletion.
Here are a couple of things you can try:
- Reset your authentication
During login, start the 2FA/passkey reset process. If your account has a Super Admin, they may be able to approve the reset. - Use HubSpot’s account recovery process
If you can’t complete the reset, contact HubSpot Support through the recovery flow. They may ask you to verify your identity before restoring access.
Once access is restored, you can log in and delete the account from Account Settings.
Hope this helps!
Hi @ANSINDIA,
During login, you can request a 2FA reset: Reset your two-factor authentication
An admin in your portal will then receive an email and can reset it for you, allowing you to set up your authentication method again. Reset your two-factor authentication
If you are the only admin in your HubSpot portal and have locked yourself out, then - unfortunately - I think there is nothing you can do yourself. We can tag the community team here for help to reset this authentication for you.
In any case, if you wait a little longer, deletion will happen automatically: “Free accounts will be deactivated after 120 days of inactivity. This includes not logging in or using the HubSpot Sales extension. You then have 90 days to reactivate the account before it’s purged and can’t be recovered.” Recover your inactive HubSpot account
Best regards
Thank you , but unfortunately reset option is not working , it only says
verify passkey
@ANSINDIA which other authentication methods did you specify?
Also, did you safely store your backup codes? If so, you should be able to use them during 2FA reset to regain access to your account.
There are multiple ways to ensure you can access your HubSpot account. If you have not set up a secondary method (1), not saved your backup codes (2), and lost your passkey (3), then I don’t think anything can be done here besides waiting - which, see my previous reply, will lead to the deletion of your portal anyway.
Hi @ANSINDIA and welcome to the HubSpot Community!
Right now, HubSpot relies on the passkey saved to your device or password manager, and can’t reset or regenerate it for you directly.
If you’ve lost access, you’ll need to use the account recovery process from your passkey provider (like Apple iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, or your hardware key).
Once you regain access, you can sign in and update your passkey settings in HubSpot under Settings → General → Security.
For security, HubSpot Support can’t delete accounts or disable passkeys without sign-in. If you’re part of a company account, a Super Admin can remove your user after verifying portal ownership.
