It would be good to have a default ‘last actvity type property’ so that you could trigger automation based on whether the last activity was an email being sent to the contact or vice versa.
There is no current way to do this in workflows, the closest thing you can get is ‘at least one associated activity type is email sent to contact’ which doesn’t help much at all.
When creating a report, whilst we have the property to say when the last activity took place, it would be beneficial to have a property that says what the activity was, e.g. Note, Task, Email sent too…, Email receved by… This would allow for a better report building experience.
Your not alone. It’s kind of shocking that badly needed low level functions simply don’t exist. Last activity type is a good example. Proper email return values is another one, and there are plenty more. What’s even more shocking is that some of these requests have been open for a very long time. But hey, if you give HS a neutral CSAT they are all over you. Not seeing any progress on these old ideas is certainly not improving my enthousiasm.
In all honesty, not being able to retrieve the type of last activity (email, sales email, call, meeting, ao.) is quite rediculous. Activities are being logged but I can’t reliably determine what it is. So I don’t know how many call attempts I’ve made and can’t tell how may sales emails a contact has been sent. Seriously, I though HS was a marketing platform? Not having adequate low level functions is one of the painful shortcomings of HS. Everyone wants to know how many calls they have made…
A “last activity type” contact property is necessary to identify the cause of the latest update and trigger workflows effectively. The inability to differentiate the last activity is a significant deficiency for a CRM, even though the activity log provides the information. This feature is crucial for those who use last contacted as a workflow trigger.
+1 to this! Looking to effectively report on what the last activity type was, given there’s a last activity date. It’s important to us to know (process-wise) and analyze what it was call vs email vs task. Not only to indicate follow-up activity necessary, to measure effective communication, analyze next steps and at a glance understand what was last done.
This exists to a degree in the leads and the target accounts feature but not in a way that’s easily customizable or conducive to higher level views. Since it’s available in different features - would love to see it make it’s way into reporting!
Agreed. It would be helpful to either have HubSpot breakout the “Number of Sales Activities” and/or “Number of Times Contacted” by activity type or have a last activity type property where we can use it in workflows to create our own counts. There is currently no workaround. It becomes an issue when the same activity type happens within 24 hours (i.e., back to back calls for prospecting) since you can only use Last Modified Date updated in last 1 Day.
