Contacts with multiple companies

How can I view the contacts which have multiple companies associated?

Hi @howardmarxb,

Out of the box, I’m not aware of a default way to filter for this. HubSpot’s filters are designed for one associated company and, as far as I know, not all products within HubSpot have caught up to the ability to have multiple companies associated to a contact.

If you’re on a Professional or Enterprise subscription, you can create a property that behaves like the “Number of associated contacts” on the company object. This can be done with a calculation property: Create calculation and rollup properties

You would create this “Number of associated companies” property on the contact object, choose the “Count” method and then pick the company object to be counted. As a property to check, pick something that’s available on all companies, e.g. the “Create date”.

Once saved, you can filter for for this calculation property and find contacts where it is greater than 1.

Best regards!

Hi Karsten,
We are testing HubSpot and we are able to associate various companies to a contact. I guess we will have to download the csv file to verify.
Best,

Thanks @karstenkoehler this works really well.

For those that find this later, to clarify some new language, the ‘count’ field you need to use is now under a rollup property, not a calculation.

Thanks so much for this update. I have just set this up, and was hoping RollUp was the correct option.

Can I please just clarify that a rollup property is dynamic?

eg: if a contact is associated with a second company, the ‘count’ will automatically be updated from 1 to 2?

Hi @Claire-Raymond, great question!
Yes, rollup properties are dynamic, they’ll automatically update.
So if a contact is associated with another company, the ‘count’ will reflect that change right away.
Thanks and have a lovely day!
