Conditional logic in the new Lead Scoring tool

There is one very crucial feature that was included in the scoring properties (that will be sunset soon) and it does not exist in the new Lead Scoring tool, available from the Marketing Hub - that is conditional logic. Let me give you a few examples:

1. If a Company’s annual revenue is more than 100k AND the Company’s industry is “Financial Services” - add 5 points.

2. If a Company’s annual revenue is more than 100k AND the Company’s industry is “Retail” - add 3 points.

3. If a Contact’s job seniority is “manager” AND the number of employees of the company is less than 100 - add 5 points.

4. If a Contact’s job seniority is “manager” AND the number of employees of the company is more than 100 - add 3 points.

See, the number of points one would like to add may differ - a manager from a smaller company is most probably a more valuable lead than a manager from a big corporation. Similar thing with industries - depends on what is your ideal customer profile or thresholds your company may have for onboarding business from specific industries. This kind of logic is still available with the “Score properties” but as mentioned before - they will be obsolete by September.

These are all just examples, but without the possibility to add conditional logic operators like AND, OR that are pretty much available on every other HubSpot tool (lists, workflows, custom views, reports, etc.) I am (and I belive I’m not speaking just for myself) missing out on adjusting the Lead Scoring tool to meet my business goals.

This is a huge deal. I would like to also specify that Contact <> Contact AND logic is another super prominant example that is completly absent now. This functionality is crucial for our Scoring setup and I am sure many other users require the same.

This is absolutely essential functionality that needs to return before the September deprecation of the old “Score Properties”

I really would love that feature! We need that for custom website events very much.

I was just looking for information about Boolean logic possibilities and came across this suggestion. For me, it’s really unclear why HubSpot hasn’t implemented such a feature. In many cases, multiple parameters need to be given to add or subtract points in the scoring. This used to work in the past, so I don’t understand why it’s no longer available.

Even for something as simple as ranges — e.g., 100k to 500k revenue, then 501k to 750k revenue — it would be much easier to set this up with Boolean logic.

Hi everyone! My name is Hallie, and I’m a Program Manager on the CXM Team. I’m excited to share that this is in development! As soon as there is any more information available, I will update you all here. Thanks for your continued feedback!

Hi everyone! My name is Melody, and I’m the Product Manager for Lead Scoring. Thanks for your feedback on this! Both Lead Scoring and Health Scoring now can do conditional scoring with “and”. Here’s the Lead Scoring product notification to join the Public Beta for both apps and a quick video demo for more information. Thanks for your patience and let me know if you have any questions or additional feedback!

@MelodyCooke I like this update, thank you! But we also need “or” for conditional logic.
Use case: We want to add 10 points when “phne number” OR “mobile phone number” is filled. The contact should get 10 points when one property is filled. Not 20 points when both are filled, just 10 as soon as one property of them is filled.
Is that possible already?
