Change permanent delete default option for contacts?

We’ve used HubSpot for years and get a ton of spam form submissions (aka link sellers), so we are deleting handfuls of contacts every day. Up until earlier this week, the “restorable delete” was the default selected option when we’d delete contacts. But now, it’s the permanent delete, which I’d rather not have default.

Can I change this? Did this roll out to anyone else or is it something in our settings?

As far as I know, there isn’t any setting to change the default. I agree however that it would be nice to have this setting. We noticed this too and are also unhappy about the change. We would really like it back to where restorable was the default and you select permanent if that is what you want. The fact that the person can never be added back in and it can’t be undone makes this a really bad default.

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I couldn’t find anyone else online talking about this. It’s really annoying.

update: seems this was implemented to change back to restorable as default!!
