Binding a lead with a partner

I would like to know what is the best way to bind a lead (enterprise) with a partner who provides the lead (the partner is also registered as enterprise) ?

Hi @drossier,

That depends a lot on what your exact requirements for ‘binding’ are. If you merely want to visualise the connection, you could use same object associations - simply associate the lead company record with the partner company record. This can be done from the right sidebar of any company record.

If you have additional requirements beyond the visualisation, let me know.

Best regards

Hi @karstenkoehler,

Many thanks for your quick reply. And sorry for the lack of details.

Actually yes, I would like to associate a company lead with our company partner, and preferrably at a project level.
For example, say I have a company A which is a lead provided by our partner company B. I start a project with A but I would like to find a link of this project with our partner company. In the future, I could have another project with A which has nothing to do with B.

So I tried to create a lead in the company A record, and associate it with the company B (as an existing lead, on the right sidebar. It say the association is saved, but it does not show up. Did I make something wrong?

Hi @drossier,

What exactly do you mean when you say you created a lead? Can you share a screenshot?

Generally, I’d recommend using the deal object for projects. You can both associate company A and B to the deal: Create deals

Excellent! Thank you Karsten. That’s exactly what I was looking for. I was trying to mix lead and project which has no sense.

Hi @drossier ,

We actually made a blogpost (https://www.introw.io/resource-hub/the-3-ways-to-manage-your-b2b-partners-in-hubspot-and-attribute-r…) on the 3 ways how you can manage your B2B partners in HubSpot.

Let me know if you’d be interested to learn more!
