We would like to have a lead capture form that initially only requires the user to input their email address, but which then takes them on to another form where they can fill out additional information if they wish.
The reasoning is that people are less likely to complete a form the more fields there are. So we want them to be able to complete a form solely through providing their email address, but give them the opportunity to provide more information if they so wish.
I have tried doing this using the new form style, which allows a form to be made multi-step. Is it possible to set this up so that the form is considered completed (i.e. the lead is captured) when they coplete the first step, and have the subsequent step be optional?
Here is the scenario I am imagining: we offer a free trial for our product. We have a form that allows people to register for the free trial, which only requires an email address. Once the visitor has privider their email, they are captured as a lead, and can be provided the free trial. But they will also be directed to the second step of the form where they can optionally complete the remaining fields.
No, there's currently no such feature. Forms are submitted in the last step – there aren't any settings to allow a contact to partially submit a form and then submit additional information after. If you want this behaviour, you would create two forms, and after the submission of the first form redirect to the second form.
