It came to my attention that this issue happened to me and a lot of my co-workers. I've submitted a support ticket and I've been re-directed to the HubSpot community. So I'm asking for your help to get the attention this issue needs.
I can spend a lot of time working on an email I'll send to a client, but all of a sudden it will disappear and I have to start from scratch.
This is one of the most frustrating feelings I had working with a tool. All your efforts vanish in a second. The first time it happened I thought it was my fault that I accidentally pressed CTRL+A+deleted. But it happened again and again randomly without me leaving/changing the page.
I now work on my emails in Google doc / Word documents. Which makes no sense at all, we're paying top dollars to have a CRM that allows us to send email to customers/leads, I think that the minimum would be that the email functions actually work without having to turn off all your chrome extension, go into private navigation or type from google doc/word.
+1. Similar experience just now losing a ton of work in an email. Featuers like snippets and meeting add-ins make the Hubspot email tool great, but this challenge of losing content is a killer.
Spent 45 minutes carefully crafting a very important, complex, time-sensitive email. It magically disappeared! Now I can't get it re-written intime and might lose a big deal. Kind of the oposite of what I want in a sales CRM. Equally disapointed to learn that the problem has been unaddressed for so long.
Why is this not fixed yet? Here's the absolute absurdity of this. I started a reply here, in this forum, and thought, hey, let me check page 3 to see if it's been solved, and I get an autosave content from 6:19 PM on this forum. SMH.
I don't want our sales reps worrying about losing email drafts and not taking calls or changing tabs to finish an email. This is a high priority issue. Talk about killing someone's spirit after losing an email.
Draft emails needs to become a feature asap, this is ridiculous now. I have had another email disappear whilst I'm in the cnversations inbox as someone on the thread replied to the email and the detailed response I had composed completely vanished. Not a good experience
Our sales reps NEED to save email drafts, as sometimes email responses require time to find information. Need to be able to save drafts in hubspot ASAP
Hi all! This post was just put on my radar in relation to this other similar post. I've updated the title of this one to reflect the ask for an autosave functionality in the email communicator that reloads the content previously there if there is a glitch or you accidentally refresh your browser, etc. Please keep upvoting and commenting here if that is your use case.
If you are looking for the ability to intentionally save an email in a draft state because you're still workshopping the content, reviewing with colleagues, etc., and want to revisit it later. please go upvote and comment on https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Save-email-draft-in-CRM/idi-p/218243. I know there's a lot of overlap and many of you are probably looking for both. This separation will help us clearly communicate progress as it will likely be different teams here at HubSpot working on each bit.
@hroberts, I don't mean to sound rude but I have to say that asking users to "Please keep upvoting and commenting here" instead of saying "I will personally make it my responsibility to have this issue urgently sorted since it should be a standard feature just like in any email system" IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. HUBSPOT PEOPLE, GET YOUR BLOODY ACT TOGETHER AND ADD AUTO-SAVE TO ANY DRAFTED CONTENT JUST LIKE YOU ADDED AUTO-SAVE TO DRAFTS RIGHT HERE ON THIS COMMUNITY FORUM!!!

Hubspot started deleting my emails as I was writing them. My upsell campaign just vanished and I'm so mad. I've been working on this for an entire week and my progress which was saved just disappeared.
I can't emphasize enough how badly I need this feature in Hubspot. I've experienced multiple workflows that will delete an email in draft that are unknown until it happens. Incredibly frustrating. When I remember, I won't even use Hubspot to draft emails because gmail will save my drafts and I use the Hubspot extension in gmail.
Here's an example of a use case I just experienced. I wrote out an email and inserted meeting times. I don't like that the "View my full availability here" link is underneath the times (people are more likely to read what's above those inserted times), so I clicked the link to open it in hopes of copying the URL to add in my message above the inserted times. The link took me to my meeting page (did not open in a different tab, as I expected) and when I clicked back to return to my email, all of my work was gone because draft emails do not save. I experience emails (and Notes!!!) not saving multiple times a week due to workflows that I am not aware of taking me away from my note/email and when I return all my work is gone.
TLDR: All content in Hubspot should auto-save (emails, notes, ANYTHING) to support the known workflow of sales, CSMs, etc that get distracted and often return to unfinished content to finalize.
