Zugferd - electronic Invoice (XML)

In Germany, there is a need to send invoices in an electronic / digital format as an XML File from 1st of January , 2025. This means not only sending a PDF but a special coded / formatted XML file which contains all information of the invoice to process this automatically.

The name is Zugferd, and it stands for a German acronym. The German law is based on an EU-directive (in France there is a similar law/system).

Although there is a transition period next year for smaller companies, bigger companies have to fulfill the new law.

HubSpot should support sending invoices as XML too.

Very important topic. Wasn’t this ojn scope of HubSpot Dev Team. This would make the Commerce Hub unusable in germany.

There is a transitional period here. But if it doesn’t come, the invoices tool in HubSpot will no longer be usable.

I got an email from our HubSpot Partner Manager that they will work on a solution.

Has anyone heard if there are any updates on this?

The invoicing tool is surprisingly far from professional use. And that’s embarrassing for a company as big as Hubspot. Invoice customisation, e-invoices, custom invoice numbers, etc.

is there any update on this feature?

This will become very relevant for all of Hubspots European Customers and a go-kill-criteria on further using Hubspot Invoicing / Billing.

In fact, Hubspot might be legally required to provide such invoices itself to their European Customers from 01.01.26 onwards.

It should be very easy to implement for your company, so that if you do it for yourself, you could also bring it to your Customers.

I would be thankful for an update!

@KaeferLive please check our new app availlable since yesterday. Hope the HubSpot Marketplace link is accepted. We go beyond E-Invoice Standards and also generate PDF-UA Standards. ZUGFeRD + PDF-UA (More impact because of accessibility as a standard)
