Hi everyone,
I am currently using Zapier to perform some bespoke actions. One thing that is lacking is the option to create, update or get / find custom objects. I have a couple of key custom objects in use so its causing issues currently. From some brief research, most Zapier alternatives have the same limitation. Does anyone have an alternative solution that have used?
@LLynam consider getting the Operations Hub…
@mangelet We have operations hub. I am trying to pass information from systems linke Chargebee and PandaDoc back into HubSpot custom object (as their antive integrations have limitations). I am not sure how operations hub would help with this? My team don’t have any developer resource.
@LLynam Custom coded actions allow your workflows to query external systems that provide an API.
Eg. Charbee API will grant you access to your orders and quotes
Consider hiring a developer to take advantage of operation’s hub programmable automation.
Hi @LLynam ,
Quick 2025 take. You can still skip Zapier. Use the “When a webhook is received” trigger in Ops Hub to catch Chargebee or PandaDoc events, then in the same workflow use Create record to upsert your custom object and set fields. This is all point-and-click now and works well at scale
For idempotency, store an external key on the object and require unique values on the primary display property so duplicates get blocked at write time. That little rule saves a lot of headaches in practice.
If you need a backfill or heavier logic, add one Custom Code action to call the vendor API and then write to HubSpot, but most teams don’t need to live there day-to-day anymore. Keep private app scopes tight to custom objects and workflows only
Full disclaimer: We actually built Stacksync to handle this exact pattern without custom scripts. It keeps HubSpot custom objects in two-way sync with Chargebee PandaDoc, or your database in real time, handles retries, and uses external keys to stay consistent.
Happy to walk you through a small pilot if helpful.
Hope this helps!
