I am having an issue with two separate workflows. One sends an email 1 days after a deal has been approved. The other sends another email 3 days after that deal has been approved. Recently someone flagged that they got both of these emails for the same deal on the same day at the same time. This deal was approved on a Friday so I’m wondering if business days has something to do with it. How can I troubleshoot this issue?
Hi @JFair,
Can you please share screenshots of both workflows, including the workflow working hour settings? (Settings in the workflow menu, then right sidebar)
Delays continue to run outside workflow working hours – which would explain that both emails arrived on Monday.
Best regards
@JFair for any deal entering the “Approved” deal stage between 5pm on Thursday and Friday 9am, notifications will always be sent Monday 9am.
Delays continue to execute outside of working hours, the next non-delay action will execute during working hours.
If you had a deal approved on Friday, the one-day delay would end on Saturday, the three-day delay on Monday – hence both emails sent on Monday.
A simple way to avoid this would be consolidating both workflows. Send email 1, wait 2 more days, send email 2.
Can you suggest how I consolidate them together. What terms would I need to put in place.
@JFair I had suggested this in my previous reply, but I’ll rephrase.
If
Workflow 1 enrolls deals when they enter stage X then waits 1 day, then sends an email 1
And if
Workflow 2 enrolls deals when they enter stage X then waits 3 days, then sends an email 2
Then you can simply update workflow 1 to enroll deals when they enter stage X, then wait 1 day, send email one, then wait 2 days, then send email 2
@JFair looks good!
