Q1 2023 was a few quarters ago. Any update on this one? Keen to have this in place asap!

Any update on this? Says possible beta in Q1 2023 and we are past that!

Is there any update on this front??

Regards,

@JHartnagle I see this is now in public beta but I can’t find how to opt in. Am I missing something?

:waving_hand: Everyone!

Today we went to public beta with the ability to undo and redo most changes made on the workflows canvas during the last 30 days!

The undo/redo option will not work for workflows that have extension actions or custom code actions, and doesn’t support changes for moving or cloning of actions.

To opt-in to the public beta, Click to the drop down next to your name in the top right corner of your HubSpot Portal > Select Product Updates > Select Betas > Find “[Public Beta] Undo or Redo Changes on the Workflows Canvas” > click the Join Beta button.

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or feeback!

Best,

Jess

:waving_hand: Everyone,

This week we added undo/redo buttons on the workflows canvas, to undo and redo most changes made on the workflows canvas during the last 30 days. Undo/redo won’t work for workflows that have extension actions or custom code actions.

To use this new feature:

  1. Go to the Edit Workflow Canvas to build a new or edit an existing workflow.
  2. See the two new buttons on the top left of the editor to undo and redo workflow actions.
  3. Clicking the undo button will revert changes, one-at-a-time.
  4. Clicking the redo button to restore an undone changes, one-at-a-time.

We look forward to hearing your feedback on these new undo/redo capabilities.

Best,
Jess

@JHartnagle would this also undo actions in the workflows such as properties being set? My understanding is just the workflow structure, but let me know if we’ll be getting a revert option for results of incorrect actions/enrollment triggers saved. I know the alternative solution is to export and then import with the previous value, but an option to revert a property to previous history based on a workflow action would be great!

JHartnagle will we be getting a revert button/option if a workflow incorrectly sets property values?
I certainly appreciate the “undo” options for changes to the workflow actions, but one for the outcomes of certain actions would be great!
Right now the solution is for customers to export property history (but this exports ALL records, whereas exporting records can isolate the ones you want to change better but don’t show the previous value). Then they import the previous value (such as owner).
My goal is to reduce friction when properties are set incorrectly by workflows to revert that data. That is one of the most common support tickets, so this would be a one to many solve for these sorts of issues. Definitely 1 on my wish list!

Should this idea be marked as “Delivered” rather than “Idea Submitted”?

I’d much rather have more robust versioning and activation like Salesforce Flows. You can never edit an Active flow in Salesforce, you generate a new version, and then edit that, then Activate when you are ready. If it doesn’t work you can go back to your previous version.

Hello,

I saw your post and I completely agree with you. The lack of an “undo” or “revert” button in workflows is a huge pain point, especially when you’re dealing with complex automation.

This is exactly why we built WorkflowGuard.

Our app gives you the instant rollback feature you’re looking for. We create a complete version history of your workflows. If you make a mistake or change your mind, you can simply go back to a previous version and restore it with a single click.

You can try it out for yourself with a 21-day free trial on the HubSpot Marketplace:

Hello! My name is Hallie, and I’m a Program Manager on the CXM Team. I connected with our Product Team regarding this feature, and we are marking it as ‘Delivered’ because the original request to undo an action when editing a workflow was delivered.

With that said, there are comments asking for a way to undo changes made by a workflow, which is a request being tracked separately here. If that is still a feature you are interested in, please continue to follow along on that thread for updates and leave any relevant feedback there.

Thanks for your understanding, and your continued feedback!
